There’s no shortage of headlines about challenges facing businesses right now. But across Teesside, North Yorkshire and County Durham, something else is happening too, people are building, growing and succeeding, often without the spotlight they deserve.
That’s exactly why The Red is launching The Business, a brand-new weekly show dedicated to celebrating positive business stories from across our region.
The first show will be broadcast on Sunday the 15th of February, and will feature Charles Atha from Atha and Co as well as Dennis Gouldthorp from Galaxy Blinds.
The Business is about shining a light on the companies, founders and teams who are doing things right. Whether that’s growing a family firm, launching a new idea, creating jobs, or navigating change with resilience and ambition.
Each week, the show will bring local business owners and leaders into the studio, giving them a platform to tell their stories in their own words. No corporate jargon. No negativity. Just real conversations about what it’s like to run a business here, right now.
As well as sharing success stories, The Business will tackle the latest business news affecting the region, with guests offering their own insight, experience and opinion on the topics that matter most, from investment and growth to skills, innovation and the future of local industry.
This isn’t about big city boardrooms or abstract economic headlines. It’s about Teesside businesses, North Yorkshire businesses and County Durham businesses, and the people behind them.
By bringing those voices into the studio, The Business aims to inform, inspire and connect the local business community, while also showing listeners just how much positive activity is happening on their doorstep.
The show reflects what The Red has always stood for: local voices, local pride and local stories that deserve to be heard. It’s a space for honest conversation, shared experience and celebrating progress, however big or small.
