The team behind the mighty Middlesbrough Mela have laid on another winning headline act sure to bring the house down on Saturday, October 31 in Centre Square.
Multicultural pop superstar Raghav will fire up the stage with his soulful voice and rhythmic melodies before the evening culminates in a spectacular Bollywood-themed firework finale.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Raghav’s iconic tracks and dancefloor fillers have made him a household name on the international Asian music circuit.
His multi-platinum 2004 album Storyteller changed the landscape forever for artists of South Asian origin worldwide, with classics including Angel Eyes, So Confused and Can’t Get Enough all sampling music from Bollywood films and becoming mainstream global phenomena.
Raghav has amassed countless awards including a MOBO, two AMAs and an Urban Music Award.
Diwali in Middlesbrough producer Kash Patel said: “Seldom do you witness an artist of Raghav’s calibre who can produce hit after hit which remain relevant and contemporary almost a quarter of a century on.
“He has been instrumental in shaping the Asian music scene around the world.
“I am super excited to be flying him all the way from his hometown in Canada to perform exclusively for the people of Middlesbrough.”
Diwali - also known as the Festival of Light - will take place in Centre Square, opposite the Town Hall from noon on Saturday, October 31.
The ever-popular multicultural extravaganza remains a free, family fun event that includes live music and dance along with mouth watering street food, children’s activities, stalls, funfair rides and a spectacular Bollywood-themed firework finale.
Diwali is one of the major festivals celebrated by Hindus, Sikh, and Jains all over the world, with the five-day Festival of Light representing the triumph of good over evil.

The event is free for all to attend and tickets are not required.
