The Socceroos have confirmed Riley McGree is currently flying back to Boro having undergone medical scans in Sydney.
The Australia national team medical department says it’s working closely with its Boro counterparts, who’ll begin Riley’s treatment and rehab once he’s back on Teesside.
After arriving in Sydney in the early hours of Wednesday morning, McGree caught his studs in the turf at CommBank Stadium on Thiursday as Australia played Lebanon in the latest World Cup Qualifiers.
Word from Sydney is that first reviews of initial assessments suggest the injury may not be as bad as first feared, however more detailed assessments that will reveal the true severity of the in jury will be done once the attacking midfielder is back on Boro soil.
